Jan Dismas Zelenka's Missa Omnium Sanctorum, in a recording by the Grinnell Singers with the Lyra Baroque Orchestra, conducted by John Rommereim. The Czech composer Zelenka (1679-1745) has been increasingly recognized in recent decades as one of the baroque era’s most capable and distinctive composers. Zelenka’s mass offers colorful, surprising harmonies and contrapuntal brilliance that rivals that of J. S. Bach. This collaboration between the Grinnell Singers and the Twin-Cities-based professional period-instrument orchestra represents the fourth time that the two ensembles have combined forces since their first concert together in 2015. The album includes solos from Grinnell College faculty members Suzanne Lommler, mezzo-soprano, and Nicholas Miguel, baritone, as well as the celebrated soprano from the Twin Cities, Linh Kauffman, and University of Northern Iowa faculty member Jeffrey Brich, tenor.

The Grinnell Singers recording of the complete All-Night Vigil Op. 37 by Sergei Rachmaninov, under the direction of John Rommereim, hailed for its "consummate artistry" by Iowa Public Radio's Curt Snook, host of the Choral Tradition.

This is a CD on the Centaur label of the Op. 91 Sonatas for flute and obligato Harpsichord, by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, performed by Rebecca Stuhr, flute, and John Rommereim, harpsichord. We recorded it at a little church outside Solon Iowa for the sound isolation, and Peter Nothnagle was our engi

Piano Diaries are a set of 14 improvised piano pieces created in the summer of 2019. Many of the pieces use a technical device in Ableton that creates canons at various intervals and in inversion. They were performed in one take, so you can hear a few slips here and there. If you listen, be sure to check out the last one, "Anuli," which I made for my stepdaughter's wedding. I wrote a part for flute and asked my friend Claudia Anderson to join me.
